Individual Therapy
Valerie provides individual therapy services which are on a one-to-one basis and held virtually using secure HIPAA-complaint telehealth programs. Therapy is personalized to the individual and their needs to ensure you receive appropriate support, understanding, and skills for life challenges, personal awareness, and other mental health/wellbeing difficulties.
Here are some key aspects of individual therapy with Valerie Medina:
Assessment and Goal Setting
In the early sessions, Valerie will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment to understand the individual's background, concerns, and goals. Together, they collaboratively set therapeutic goals and discuss the desired outcomes of the therapy.
Confidentiality
Sessions are held in private and what is discussed between the individual and the therapist is kept typically confidential within legal and ethical limits. This creates a safe space for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings.
Limitations of confidentiality include informing appropriate authorities to ensure safety for those involved if someone shares concerning information to a licensed therapist.
Therapeutic Relationship
A strong, trusting relationship allows the individual to open up and explore their thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment!
